Personal Statement

I knew nothing coming into this craft, I just kind of started working on a web series where I was the gaffer and had no one to learn from just a three point lighting video. I didn't even know what you are supposed to be doing or what you were supposed to be even looking for when you start on a project like that and they’re relying on me, it just added pressure on me to learn what I’m supposed to know and what I’m doing. One of my most important lessons is that I had to remove my ego from the work, because I was so passionate about wanting to make an impact and wanting to perform, but that's not always my role so seperating myself from the work eased some of my frustrations. I’m always open to criticism, because that's how you sharpen your sword.I think that someone who is open to criticism is open to growth and open to new ideas. You make yourself unlimited in the that capacity, but also it just makes it easier to get along with people, especially in this industry.

From my whole start into the industry learning on the fly to working features, huge product commercials, music videos, to reality tv still learning along the way, biggest boon for growth have been working with industry professionals who've I've been able to learn from and have taken the time to teach me new an exicting things. The work is physical but I find rewarding because you have an actual direct impact you can see upon the outcome of the film. Showing people you are dependable or reliable and looking out for these same people is how I love to build relationships, because when you've done what you're supposed to hopefully it comes back around and they'll do the same for you. I’m ready to clock in, learn things that I need to learn, meet fantastic, interesting people and help the day go smoothly as possible.
